For a day at the beach…

Here in Australia we are getting ready for winter and yesterday I had my fire going. But today is a gloriously warm day, and just happens to coincide with me finishing another project. This gorgeous bag from Aunties Two (www.auntiestwo.com) is perfect for a day in the sun. I bought the pattern as part of a kit at Carols of Midland, so I can’t take credit for the colour choices, which is what drew me to the kit. It is such a vibrant, fun bag. The pattern calls for handmade handles but I love the Studio Mio leather handles and picked some up at the last Quilt & Craft Fair here in Perth. Speaking of which is only about two and a half weeks away…very excited.

But whilst I dream of being surrounded by fabrics, threads and all things crafty, I need to knuckle down and finish my niece’s birthday present. She is going to be toasty warm when she hops into her mermaid tail blanket. I can’t wait for her to open it.

I’m also working on a stitching design. I spent yesterday picking out colours and now just have to decide on what I want to do with the stitching and therefore what fabric I’m going to stitch it on. I can’t wait to show you all.

Well I’m off to enjoy the sun, whilst it’s still around.

Until next time…
